Directive Order to establish the
Ohio Asian American Pacific
Islander Advisory Council (OAAPIAC).

OAAPIAC holds their first
meeting. Governor Ted Strickland
is in attendance.
6/9/2010:
OAAPIAC co-sponsors the first Asian Legislative Day with
the Ohio Asian American Health Coalition. The keynote speaker
is Kiran Ahuja, executive director
of the White House Initiative
of Asian American Pacific
Islanders (AAPI).
12/29/2010:
OAAPIAC publishes a
substantial report on Asian Americans in Ohio.

5/27/2011:
Governor John R. Kasich issues Executive Order 2011-09K, establishing OAAPIAC.
6/14/2011:
The second Asian Legislative
Day is held in Ohio.
12/19/2011:
The first OAAPIAC meeting with
the new Kasich administration members.

3/23/2012:
Governor John R. Kasich joins
the OAAPIAC meeting.
6/5/2012:
The third Asian Legislative Day
is held in Ohio.
7/13/2012:
OAAPIAC holds the first White House Initiative AAPI Regional Action Summit.
9/28/2012:
The White House Initiative AAPI Report is issued and presented to the White House Initiative AAPI Commission in Washington, D.C.

3/15/2013:
The 2012 OAAPIAC annual
report is published.
4/19/2013:
OAAPIAC's Summit 2013 occurs and is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
4/23/2013:
Protecting Civil Rights Town
Hall occurs. This is a summit
coordinated by the U.S.
Attorney's Office of the Southern District of Ohio, the Ohio Latino Affairs Commission, OAAPIAC
and the Columbus Community
Relations Commission.
7/30/2013:
OAAPIAC holds its first retreat.
